Demonicus is situated in a prime location overlooking the cobbled Market Square of this historic Dales village.



  Famous for it’s castle and horse racing connections, Middleham lies between Wensleydale
and Coverdale, only 2 miles from the bustling, traditional, market town of Leyburn.
Demonicus is a superb base for walking and sightseeing, and exploring the many nearby attractions. There is walking for all levels of ability right from the door, and for keen cyclists

About the cottage

The cottage sleeps 4. It has recently been totally renovated, with many of the original features being restored. There are exposed beams throughout the cottage, and solid oak flooring throughout the ground floor. Furniture and lighting are of a very high standard and have been chosen to keep in character with this period cottage.

On the ground floor is the spacious, comfortably furnished lounge with inglenook fireplace, colour LCD TV with built in Freeview, video/dvd player and cd/cassette/radio tuner.

To help guests unwind and relax there is a good supply of DVDs and videos; audio books and games and puzzles.  And to help with planning days out there is an abundance of literature about Middleham and the surrounding area, as well as local maps.

The Kitchen


The dining/kitchen adjacent to the lounge has fitted units; electric cooker & hob; extractor fan; microwave oven; fridge freezer and dishwasher.

The kitchen is well equipped to satisfy even the keenest cook, and the attractive circular dining table seats four people comfortably.

A stable door leads from the kitchen to a small south facing patio area outside. This is a quiet retreat, with garden furniture and shrubs and plants - ideal for sitting, or eating out when the weather permits.

For guests wanting an alternative to eating in, Middleham’s many pubs, restaurants and tearooms offer a wide choice of good quality food, both by day and in the evening. All within easy walking distance of the cottage.

 


 
The Bedrooms

The main windows of both bedrooms have fabulous views, extending over the rooftops of the village to the Wensleydale landscape beyond.

On the first floor is a large double bedroom featuring a king sized bed.

The spacious, twin-bedded second floor bedroom has beams extending into the roof space, and additional Velux windows.

The Bathroom

On the first floor is the luxurious bathroom with a marble tiled bath and a powerful quadrant shower.  It is warmed by under
floor heating as well as a large heated wall mounted towel rail.

High quality towels are supplied for each guest, and soap, shower gel and bath products are also provided.

The cottage has oil fired central heating throughout. Heating and all electricity
is provided within the rental cost.

Beds will be made up ready for your arrival. All beds have duvets and pillows and bed linen is provided. Towels are also supplied.

Ample parking is available right by the door, in the Market Square.

Demonicus is fitted with hard wired smoke alarms. Please note that visitors
are requested not to smoke in the cottage.

Pets are welcome by arrangement.
